We were thrilled with the turnout for our Red Cross fundraiser last Wednesday evening. It was a sell-out event and we raised more than £2000 in our Little Village Hall in Blockley. It was also a wonderful opportunity to bring our neighbours together for such an important and worthwhile cause. We hope to still raise plenty more for the Red Cross and you can help our efforts by purchasing one of our gift cards- we will donate 20% of the profits to the Red Cross.

 

A number of talented local artisans kindly donated prizes to the raffle including some stunning pieces of artwork, a floristry workshop and a family photo portrait package with a local photographer.

 

Everyone greatly enjoyed the beautiful Ukrainian and Syrian food cooked by our talented head chef Addie and our sous chef Ben. 

 

 

On the menu we had Ukrainian Beetroot Borscht Soup with Sour Cream and Dill, Flat breads with Ful Medames, Carrot and Cabbage Slaw, and for dessert- Orange Polenta Cake with Pistachio Yoghurt and a Salted Caramel Brownie with Cardamom Yoghurt. 

 

 

 

 

We hope to host many more suppers like this that will help shine a spotlight on causes that desperately need our help. We felt especially at this time that we couldn't sit back and do nothing, and so we hope that our small contribution makes a difference. For now, we'll continue our support by donating 20% of our gift card profits to the British Red Cross and their humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen.
