When we opened our first café at London Bridge in 2015 we wanted to show people that plant-based food could be indulgent, exciting, and most importantly – delicious.
At Dovebrook, our mission is to elevate vegetables, and make consuming more of them a refined, hassle-free experience. Too often the plant-based option is lacklustre, boring, and time consuming to prepare. We're changing that.
We want to introduce you to flavours, textures and combinations you might not have tried before. We hand make unique dishes from scratch, using the freshest, finest ingredients we can find at our kitchen in the Cotswolds. Eating food cooked in small batches like this is both energy and waste efficient. Our kitchen produces virtually no food waste.
We blast freeze our meals immediately to remove the need for excessive additives and preservatives. This ensures the freshness, flavour, and nutritional value of the meal remains intact. Freezing also enables us to take advantage of the best of the season’s produce, ready to be enjoyed by you at any time of year.
We want to build a better kind of business, with the minimum footprint possible. We developed our Zero Waste system and bespoke glass dish so we can get our meals to you with the least possible packaging, and you can reheat our food under optimal conditions. Our food packaging is simple, but effective. It is 100% plastic-free, biodegradable, and home compostable. If it ever did find its way into our oceans, it will dissolve completely within 6 weeks.
We use 100% renewable energy in our kitchen, and now generate around 50% of our own electricity via a large solar panel array covering our whole roof! We pay all our employees above the Real Living Wage, and for every box you order, we make a donation to the Woodland Trust to support the planting of UK woodland. We’re building a different type of business, for a different type of world, and hope you’ll join our community.
